Water Drop Meditation

How to Use the Water Drop Meditation

  • Note: video may not play on all devices (staring at the still image is still effective!)

  • Read directions then scroll back up to use the meditation.

  • Watch the droplet enter the water.  Stare at this point of entry.

  • Place one hand on heart and one on belly.

  • Inhale in nose for 4 counts -- push the belly button out as you inhale filling lungs from bottom to top

  • Exhale from mouth for 6 counts -- pull the belly button in slowly to empty lungs from top to very bottom

  • Repeat slowly stretching the exhale count up to your comfortable number

  • 4/6, 4/8, 4/10, 4/12, and so on.  You shouldn't be straining.  The shoulders be still.  The belly should be moving.

  • As your mind wanders, gently bring it back to re-focus on the: water drop, the air exchange, the belly, the numbers.

By the Water's Edge: Recordings to Soothe & Heal

  • Envision yourself standing at the water's edge.  The waves come up and over your feet. 

  • Choose a recording.  Turn it on.  Scroll back up to listen and watch the water.

  • Add deep breathing (4 in/6 out) to increase relaxation.

These recordings can be used throughout the day as needed.  

Do not try to stay awake during the bedtime recording.  Follow along and allow yourself to drift off. 

Remember, the subconscious never sleeps it hears everything!  So it doesn't effect the efficacy of the work if your mind wanders, if you stay aware of the room around you, you begin to think of other things, or you fall asleep; your mind will hear what it needs.  Retrain the brain to focus by gently bringing the mind back to the recording.  Stay as involved as possible.
